Give the two different parts of a chemical equation
Good Day....
The two main part of chemical equation is the reactant and the product. The total mass of the reactant should be equal to the total mass of the product following the law of conservation of mass.
Ca + O2 → CaO
↓ ↓
REACTANT → PRODUCT
Considering the chemical equation above, Ca + O2 is the reactant and CaO is the product. Usually reactant can be found on the left side and product is on the right side of the arrow in the chemical equation. We could also say that product is located to where the arrowhead is pointing and reactant is located before the arrow.
